Tom DeLay is a great American, a wonderful Christian man, a committed father, and one of the strongest conservatives in Congress. It is despicable the way the Democrats have used liberally biased media outlets to constantly attack him based on the ridiculous charges filed against him by the highly partisan Travis County DA.
I think this will backfire on the Democrats, and could be the greatest thing to happen to the GOP this year. One man (whose successor will likely still be a Republican) giving up his seat, but the things he will do now that he is out of office could mean dozens of strong Conservatives winning races they otherwise wouldn’t have come November. The man knows politics big time, and will be a huge asset in energizing the GOP base for the tight battle to sustain or increase the GOP majority.
